Abstract
In a world where the jewels of knowledge and technology serve as key elements in political, economic, and social sustainability and flourishing, the application of scientific achievements toward the comprehensive development of society and the efficiency of its systems has become increasingly serious and an unquestionable principle. Alongside scientific development, quality enhancement, and the training of specialized human resources, one of the most vital responsibilities of universities is responding to societal needs and helping resolve community problems. Accordingly, paving the way for the knowledge-based system to participate in addressing the country's dilemmas and challenges stands as a major objective aligned with fulfilling the university's social responsibility. As the country's largest humanities university, Allameh Tabataba'i University—benefiting from a vast community of thinkers and specialists in the fields of humanities and social sciences—strives to provide the groundwork for the knowledge-based system's participation in resolving the nation's existing dilemmas by activating its scientific capacities and developing community-oriented initiatives. This is because true power and independence in today's world, as well as the realization of the ideal of balanced and sustainable progress and development in any country, are grounded upon a knowledge-based system.
By prioritizing the objectives of its strategic plan regarding the transformation of the humanities, the elevation of the university's international standing, the enhancement of ethics and social responsibility, and targeted innovation, the university has played an influential and decisive role through holding series of specialized meetings with the participation of its capable professors and researchers in assisting governance decision-making and helping solve the country's social challenges and problems.
It is hoped that the country's executive bodies—by presenting their issues and problems within the university environment and utilizing the policy recommendations now provided by a group of Allameh Tabataba'i University specialists—will pave the way for upgrading the level of their executive activities, thereby safeguarding any planning and action from error to the greatest extent possible and demonstrating the knowledge-based nature of their decisions and activities.
