Abstract
In response to the esteemed President's request to utilize the capacities and competencies of university faculty members in resolving the country's challenges, Allameh Tabataba'i University—as the authority in the humanities—has organized sessions focusing on national problems with the objective of applying scientific findings to executive issues. The organization of such sessions was approved during the Research Council meeting of the university on March 2, 2015, and the first session was held on March 3, 2015, at the Institute for Economic Sciences. To date, 107 sessions have been conducted across the university's various faculties and research institutes. In these sessions, professors draw upon their accumulated knowledge to share the results of their applied research with industrial and executive managers, with the outcomes subsequently submitted in the form of "policy recommendations" to the highest executive authorities of the relevant organizations. Naturally, the participation of academics in decision-making and policy formulation plays a significant role in improving the state of society and resolving the country's problems, thereby facilitating the fulfillment of universities' social responsibilities.
The organization of these sessions and the practical application of their findings and achievements serve as a beacon of hope for problem identification and the resolution of issues. Therefore, it is essential that the topics of these sessions be designed in alignment with societal needs across various political, economic, social, cultural, legal, and managerial fields, among others. Without a doubt, academics consider it their mission to assist society and senior national managers in decision-making and policy formulation.
