Standard Persian prose has faced serious erosion in recent years, particularly in cyberspace and public media—a phenomenon that began with the rise of text messaging and shorthand writing and expanded through social networks into the formation of coded language, broken spelling, the mixture of letters and numbers, and a disregard for orthographic and grammatical rules. This trend, alongside "Finglish" text-writing, the displacement of sentence constituents, subject-verb agreement mismatches, and semantic and pronunciation errors in Radio and Television productions, has resulted in diminished intellectual communication quality and weakened scientific and cultural growth. As the country's official language and the bearer of historical thought and identity, the Persian language plays a foundational role in ethnic solidarity and the preservation of national cohesion; consequently, its weakening can lead to a reduction in cultural capital and even the erosion of identity legitimacy at the national level. Proposed strategies emphasize the correct usage of the Persian language in the national media, the design of cultural mechanisms to enhance linguistic awareness, the creation of incentives and awards for proper language use in social media, and the strengthening of the linguistic proficiency of news agencies. Furthermore, the establishment of a language planning research institute, support for linguistic research and technologies, the development of correct-writing and spell-checking software, and the compilation of a comprehensive Persian grammar and standard writing style guides are recommended as institutional measures for safeguarding and strengthening the standard language.
