Supply chain and logistics management is a key component of enterprise competitiveness and economic development, with its efficiency depending on the simultaneous flow of goods, money, and information across the entire chain from supplier to customer. In ایران, supply chain inefficiency is manifested by high logistics costs and weak process control, such that logistics accounts for an estimated 44 percent of costs, with the major share belonging to transportation and warehousing. Furthermore, limited use of modern technologies (such as big data, the Internet of Things, automation, and robotics), infrastructural weaknesses and poor warehouse design, domestic and international transportation challenges, difficulties in international negotiations and contracting, a lack of sufficient knowledge of target markets, and weak data analysis for decision-making disrupt supply chain performance. Moreover, the absence of a supply chain mindset among some managers and graduates leads to an exclusive focus on production and marketing, while logistics costs and quality are overlooked. Proposed strategies include establishing world-class integrated supply chain management, reforming computerized systems and processes, benchmarking global experiences, precise budgeting and costing, developing tracking technologies, specialized outsourcing of logistics, strengthening academic and professional training, leveraging rail and maritime transport capacities alongside dry ports, and improving document management and cultural-linguistic communication in international trade.
