In a world where the jewels of knowledge and technology serve as key elements in political, economic, and social stability and prosperity, the application of scientific achievements for the comprehensive development of society and the efficiency of its systems has become increasingly urgent and an unquestionable principle. Alongside scientific development, quality enhancement, and the training of specialized human resources, one of the primary responsibilities of universities is to respond to societal needs and help resolve community challenges. Accordingly, paving the way for a knowledge-based system to participate in solving the country's dilemmas and problems constitutes a vital objective and aligns with the fulfillment of the university's social responsibility. As the country's largest humanities university—benefiting from a vast community of thinkers and specialists in the humanities and social sciences—Allameh Tabataba'i University strives to activate its scientific capacities and expand community-oriented initiatives to foster the participation of a knowledge-based system in addressing the nation's existing challenges. This is because true power and independence in today's world, as well as the realization of the ideal of balanced and sustainable progress and development in any country, are grounded in a knowledge-based system. By prioritizing the objectives of its strategic plan—specifically regarding the transformation of the humanities, the elevation of the university’s international standing, the promotion of ethics and social accountability, and innovation—the university has organized a series of specialized panels featuring its capable faculty members and researchers. Consequently, it has played an influential and decisive role in assisting governance decision-making and contributing to the resolution of the country's social challenges and problems. It is hoped that the country's executive bodies, by presenting their issues and problems within the academic environment and drawing upon the policy recommendations now provided by a group of Allameh Tabataba'i University specialists, will enhance the level of their administrative activities. In doing so, they can protect their planning and actions from errors to the greatest extent possible and demonstrate the knowledge-based nature of their decisions and operations.
