Given the country's need to leverage academic research in solving national issues, Allameh Tabataba'i University—as the authority in the humanities and with the objective of utilizing the capacities and competencies of its faculty members as well as scientific findings to address executive problems—organizes specialized sessions focusing on the country's challenges and difficulties. The organization of such sessions was approved during the Research Council meeting of the university on March 2, 2015, and the first session was held on March 3, 2015, at the Institute for Economic Research. To date, 189 sessions have been conducted across the university's faculties and research units. In these sessions, faculty members draw upon their accumulated knowledge to share the results of their applied research with industrial and executive managers of the country, the outcomes of which are subsequently submitted in the form of "policy recommendations" to the highest executive authorities of the relevant organizations. Naturally, the participation of academics in decision-making and policy formulation plays a significant role in improving the state of society and resolving the country's problems, thereby facilitating the fulfillment of universities' social responsibilities.
The organization of these sessions and the practical application of their findings and achievements serve as a beacon of hope for problem identification and the resolution of national issues. Therefore, it is essential that the topics of these sessions be designed in alignment with societal needs across various political, economic, social, cultural, legal, and managerial fields, among others. Without a doubt, academics consider it their mission to assist society and senior national managers in decision-making and policy formulation.
