The national identity of youth in contemporary conditions, under the influence of accelerating cultural changes, the expansion of global cultural consumption patterns, and the weakening of historical-linguistic ties, faces a certain degree of fracture and fading. Within this framework, the Shahnameh, as one of the most fundamental sources of Iranians' historical and cultural memory, possesses a unique capacity to reproduce national identity and strengthen the bond of youth with common elements of Iranianness. The Shahnameh is not merely a literary work; rather, it conveys a collection of identity-building concepts such as patriotism, the Persian language, ethnic unity, rationality, justice-seeking, chivalry, and heroism in the form of impactful narratives, and can play a protective and reinforcing role against new mechanisms of cultural assault. Connecting youth with ancient Persian literature, particularly through systematic education and lived cultural experience, provides the groundwork for increasing historical awareness, strengthening social belonging, and enhancing cultural capital. In this regard, strategies such as developing Shahnameh-recitation and Mosha'ereh programs in schools and universities, producing media and artistic works based on Shahnameh stories, incorporating Shahnameh narratives into textbooks, holding national festivals and competitions, promoting Naqqali and Parde-khani, and designing special programs in ethnic regions to strengthen national solidarity are proposed.
